Job Description

GreatAmerica Financial Services is a highly successful entrepreneurial company providing equipment financing to businesses across the United States. Our exemplary customer service, our principle-centered business philosophy and our team-based operating approach are key to our success and growth.

We are looking to add a Key Member to our Data Analytics & Insights Team!

The Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer II delivers end‑to‑end analytics and business intelligence solutions that inform decision‑making across the enterprise. This role partners directly with business stakeholders to understand business challenges, perform ad hoc descriptive analytics, define success metrics and targets, and translate insights into scalable, recurring BI solutions.

The position balances exploratory analysis with the design and delivery of production dashboards and data assets, ensuring analytics solutions are actionable, scalable, and aligned to business priorities. This role independently owns BI features from discovery through delivery.

Business Partnership & Analytical Discovery

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand decision‑making needs and business challenges.
  • Translate business questions into analytical problem statements, hypotheses, and measurable success criteria.
  • Perform ad hoc descriptive analysis to identify trends, drivers, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Use analysis to define KPIs, performance targets, and monitoring strategies.
  • Provide data‑backed insights and recommendations, including challenging unclear or misaligned metrics.

End‑to‑End Analytics & BI Solution Delivery

  • Own BI features end to end, from discovery and analysis through dashboard design and production delivery.
  • Design, develop, and optimize enterprise dashboards and recurring reports that support strategic, operational, and tactical decision‑making.
  • Ensure analytics deliverables clearly communicate context, insights, and implications—not just metrics.
  • Balance one‑time analytical needs with scalable, repeatable analytics products.

Data Modeling & Engineering Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams and subject matter experts to design and enhance analytical data models, data marts, and semantic layers.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain SQL queries and data sources used for analytics and reporting.
  • Identify upstream data quality or structural issues and assess downstream BI impacts.
  • Ensure alignment between business definitions, analytical logic, and technical implementation.

Platform, Quality, & Enablement

  • Support stability, accuracy, and performance of enterprise BI platforms, including Tableau.
  • Contribute to analytics standards, reusable assets, and best practices.
  • Enable self‑service analytics where appropriate.
  • Participate in analytics communities and knowledge‑sharing efforts.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect analytics to real‑world decisions
  • Analytical problem solving and critical thinking
  • Ability to work independently on ambiguous, open‑ended problems
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • High attention to data accuracy, quality, and consistency
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow‑through

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into analytical requirements and BI solutions
  • Strong SQL query development and analytical data modeling experience
  • Experience independently owning analytics or BI initiatives from concept through delivery
  • Experience working in an agile or iterative analytics delivery environment is preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced SQL proficiency (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL, or equivalent)
  • Strong experience with BI and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
