Location: Los Angeles, CA, US
Type: Full-time, Hybrid
Start date: ASAP
About the company:

The company was founded in 2017 and is dedicated to solving consumer privacy, security, and productivity problems with solutions that add value for their partners.

With over $50 million in funding from leading investors, they have completed six strategic acquisitions and are rapidly expanding their disruptive market influence. By focusing on an addressable market of 1 billion users worldwide, they are making a significant impact on the daily lives of people across the globe.

About the Role:

The company is looking fora strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to partner with the SVP of Finance in leading financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational finance for our scaled growth phase.

This role will partner closely with leadership to provide visibility into business performance, model future scenarios, optimize working capital and support our M&A and partner monetization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPIs, while overseeing financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for revenue, cost, working capital, cash forecast, and scenario analyses.
  • Monitor and manage net working capital, cash generation and partner monetization metrics.
  • Partner with operations, sales, and product teams to drive financial discipline and performance insights.
  • Owning FP&A processes: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management commentary.
  • Support M&A integration, partner monetization strategies, and post-acquisition financial governance.
  • Build and refine financial dashboards that track unit economics, SaaS metrics, and customer monetization trends.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX controls and coordinate with external auditors and banks.
  • Experience managing and optimizing payment flows, including checkout, upsell, and subscription billing
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
  • Implement and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. An MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, accounting, and operational finance in a technology or SaaS company.
  • Solid experience managing cash, working capital, and operational finance for high-growth businesses.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset, able to translate financial insights into business actions.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to partner with senior executives and operational teams.
  • Experience in M&A with investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate finance, or management consulting experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with major payment processors such as Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, and Adyen
  • Working knowledge of approval rates, decline management, and fraud mitigation
  • Demonstrated ability to improve conversion and authorization rates across payment methods.
  • Experience with subscription management, renewals, and chargeback handling.
  • Comfortable working with reporting and analytics to optimize revenue and margin, not just transaction approvals.
  • Able to work closely with engineering and payment partners to drive measurable improvements.

Preferred AI / Automation Skills:

  • Experience using modern AI tools (e.g., generative AI, predictive analytics, or automated reporting platforms) to streamline finance processes and derive insights from large datasets.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to improve finance workflows, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data analysis, increasing efficiency and accuracy.

The Company Offers:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Professional development and education reimbursement
  • Hybrid work environment — office in Howard Hughes Center, Los Angeles, CA
