Job Description

Clean Up What Matters. Build Work That Lasts.

Are you an environmental consultant who wants more than routine reports and checkbox projects?

Our client is a small, self-owned environmental consulting firm based in the Seattle-Tukwila area, focused on complex site cleanup work across the Pacific Northwest. Our projects often involve challenging industrial waterfront and coastal environments where technical judgment, collaboration, and experience truly matter.

If you're energized by complex remediation work, enjoy seeing projects through from planning to construction, and want to be part of a tight-knit team where your contributions are visible and valued, this role was built with you in mind.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a mid-level Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to play a hands-on role supporting site investigation and cleanup projects throughout Washington and Oregon. You'll work as part of a small, collaborative project team and be involved in all phases of project delivery, from work plan development and investigation through feasibility evaluation, cleanup design, and construction oversight.

This is not a narrowly siloed role. You'll be trusted with responsibility, supported by experienced colleagues, and encouraged to contribute across technical, field, and project coordination efforts.

In this role, you will:
  • Work on complex industrial waterfront and coastal cleanup sites
  • Support investigation, design, and implementation phases of remediation projects
  • Spend meaningful time in the field while contributing to high-quality technical deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with teammates, clients, regulators, and contractors
  • Build experience that strengthens both your technical depth and consulting judgment

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support and execute environmental remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, stormwater, and vapor contamination
  • Participate in project work from planning through construction, including investigations, feasibility evaluations, and cleanup implementation
  • Prepare and contribute to technical documents such as Phase I and Phase II ESAs, RI/FS reports, cleanup action plans, design documents, compliance monitoring plans, and summary reports
  • Support development of engineering calculations, cost estimates, bases of design, and integrated design and specifications packages
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee multi-media field programs, including managing field teams, subcontractors, laboratories, and QA/QC processes
  • Provide construction oversight, environmental sampling, and monitoring support
  • Coordinate with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders
  • Assist with task management, scheduling, and budget tracking
  • Support proposal development, teaming efforts, and strategic program growth

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation, or contaminated site investigation
  • PE or PG preferred or actively working towards professional licensure
  • Experience supporting public and private sector clients
  • Working knowledge of Pacific Northwest environmental regulations such as WA MTCA, CERCLA, Oregon DEQ requirements, Sediment Management Standards, and related federal programs
  • Experience with environmental sampling and oversight for soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, stormwater, and vapor
  • Comfort working independently while collaborating closely within a small project team
  • Strong technical writing, organization, and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel regionally for field work, meetings, and project oversight

Work Environment & Travel

  • Based in the Pacific Northwest
  • Mix of office-based work, fieldwork, and client meetings
  • Regional travel within Washington and Oregon
  • Flexible work schedule, provided client needs and project deadlines are met

Why This Role Stands Out

We intentionally remain small, collaborative, and technically focused. Our team members are trusted to take ownership of their work, support one another, and deliver high-quality solutions on complex sites that truly benefit communities and the environment.

You won't be lost in layers of management or confined to a narrow role. Instead, you'll gain broad project exposure, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to grow alongside experienced professionals who care deeply about the work they do.

If you're looking for a role where your experience is trusted, your judgment matters, and your work has lasting impact, we'd love to connect.
