The purpose of the Human Resources Department is to maximize the productivity of an organization by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees. Under the direction of appropriately designated staff, the Intern will perform entry-level responsible and professional customer service, and clerical and administrative duties for the Human Resources Department. The Intern will work on various substantive projects, and in the process, acquire an overview of city government.
It is the City's hope that the Intern selected to participate in this internship will develop a better understanding of their community and City operations and that the experience will pave the intern's road toward personal growth and a productive career in local government.

Veteran's credit will amount to 10 points to be added to the interview score. Proof of honorable discharge must be submitted with the application materials in order to be eligible for veteran's credit. City Hall is open Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Hours will vary between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM. This position may also be required to work non-traditional hours including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on special events, community group meetings, and City Council meetings.

Employees in this position are regularly scheduled to work up to 28 hours per week and are not eligible for inclusion in the regular, permanent employment service of the City and do not receive medical benefits.
