We are a leading global manufacturer of premium equipment, seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our engineering team in Pompano Beach. In this dynamic, multidisciplinary role, you will lead the development, integration, and validation of advanced control systems for our industry-leading marine HVAC products.
As a vital link between our software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams, you will be responsible for translating complex thermodynamic behaviors into robust engineering specifications and control logic. This role offers an incredible opportunity to take full ownership of system-level product designs, from initial concept to full production launch, while managing key technical partnerships with external manufacturer Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or HVAC Engineering.
- HVAC/R Technical Knowledge: Proven hands-on experience with refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, system diagnostics, and pressure/temperature relationships.
- Software & Programming: Proficiency in C / C++ programming and a strong understanding of embedded control systems/microcontrollers.
- Industrial Automation: Solid familiarity with PLC-based systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) is a significant advantage.
- Industry Standards: Knowledge of industrial electrical and safety standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL, CE) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- System Logic & Architecture: Define functional and control requirements for HVAC systems, translating physical thermodynamic behavior into clear engineering specifications.
- Algorithm Development: Design, tune, and validate HVAC control algorithms (including PID control loops) to optimize system efficiency and performance.
- Hardware Integration: Seamlessly integrate electronic components, microcontrollers, embedded systems, sensors, and actuators with mechanical refrigeration hardware.
- Network Communications: Configure and manage critical communication protocols and interfaces, specifically CAN, J1939, NMEA2K, and Modbus .
- Lifecycle & Operational Support: Develop comprehensive test plans, support instrumentation and data logging activities, and ensure manufacturing readiness for successful production launches.
- Technical Maintenance: Author detailed technical support documentation and schematics, manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), and support firmware updates or troubleshooting for legacy product lines.
