Position Overview
Hexin Machinery USA, Inc. is seeking a skilled PLC Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our dynamic automation team in Wixom, Michigan. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in programming, debugging, and launching PLC-controlled systems across various automation projects. This role requires strong technical ability, hands-on experience, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams in both engineering and manufacturing. This position requires up to 50% travel, including visits to customer sites across North America and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with mechanical, controls engineering, and skilled trades teams throughout the entire programming, tryout, and installation phases of automation projects.
2. Perform PLC logic development and programming during the build and debug stages at our internal build locations, as well as on-site at customer facilities during installation and launch.
3. Implement updates and improvements in control logic in response to customer change requests or process optimization needs.
4. Debug and test I/O signals, validate safety and interference zones, and document all programming changes in coordination with the engineering team.
5. Lead on-site training sessions for end-users and provide effective, solution-driven support representing the company’s technical capabilities.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and integration.
2. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams.
3. Proficient in IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
4. Skilled in troubleshooting PLC systems, as well as diagnosing related electrical and mechanical issues.
5. Familiar with servo motors, stepper motors, and AC drives.
6. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency preferred.
7. Multilingual capability (Chinese, Spanish, or German) is a strong plus.
