JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION : SCHOOL BUS OPERATOR
QUALIFICATIONS : 1. High School diploma or equivalent.
C.D.L. Class B drivers license with air brake passenger and school bus endorsements and a current School Bus Operator license as provided by the guidelines established by the Massachusetts RMV (renewable annually).
REPORTS TO: Arlington Public Schools Transportation Director

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit in the drivers seat of a bus for long stretches of time. Must be able to focus on conditions on the road while driving. The employee is also required to stand; use hands to finger handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and peripheral vision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 Month - 40 hrs per week ( Expected to work overtime) . Terms of employment are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the Arlington School Committee and Local 680 School Bus Operators.
STARTING SALARY : $61K/yr
Full-Time 40 hrs/wk overtime and benefits
