Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk - $18-$24/hr

Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately packs, ships, and helps manage inventory for parts moving in and out of a manufacturing facility. This role uses UPS, FedEx, and other shipping methods to fulfill sales orders, supports inventory control, and follows established quality procedures to ensure timely and precise order processing.

Responsibilities

  • Box and package parts according to sales orders using UPS, FedEx, and other approved shipping methods.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation and labels using carrier systems and basic computer tools.
  • Attach shipping confirmation stickers to completed sales orders and submit them to the Accounting Department.
  • Support inventory control activities by accurately handling, counting, and tracking parts and materials.
  • Handle shipping and receiving activities in the warehouse, including order selection, picking, and material handling.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or similar devices, as needed to move and stage product.
  • Perform other shipping, receiving, warehouse, and logistics responsibilities as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • Basic computer skills to operate UPS and FedEx shipping systems and related machines.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as sales orders, shipping labels, and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal form and to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions and decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Dependability and the ability to meet work standards, schedules, and attendance requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with logistics processes and inventory control practices.
  • Experience with order selection, picking, and material handling in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment, where required.
  • Experience using carrier systems such as UPS and FedEx shipping platforms.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and production setting, involving regular interaction with parts, materials, and shipping equipment. Standard hours are Monday through Friday with varying shift times, with the expectation to work scheduled hours and any required overtime. The environment is active and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality procedures such as ISO 9001, and coordination across shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities. Attire is appropriate for a manufacturing and warehouse setting, suitable for working around machinery, material handling, and shipping operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
